Thanks to a tip from skyscrapercity username swerve3030, we have evidence that Goodman is pulling the good 'ol bait and switch on us. First, Hunt sold us on a mixed-use, multi-story ABQ Uptown. Now, Goodwin's plans for Winrock appear to have withered to a worst case scenario and we've already agreed to help him finance it.

Not sure what you mean by your "worst case scenario" comment.
This city has sprawling, car-centric development as far as the eye can see. We were, AGAIN, sold on a development that was truly mixed use with a hint of density. This plan is more indicative of development occurring along every fringe major arterial in every city. What's even worse is the way this plan backs buildings up to surrounding roads a-la ABQ Uptown, making the entire place it's own destination. This plan lacks any type of connectivity aside from the streets. Worst case scenario = horrendous urban design qualities
Agreed. And on a similar note, Hunt has pulled the bait-and-switch for the THIRD TIME. ABQ Uptown Phase III was pitched as having multi-level, multi-use commercial structures, restaurants, underground parking, and a mid-rise hotel. The renderings were impressive. Now the latest plans are for a lone Target. Disgusting.
A sole "Big Box" store in this location is a poor use of this site, in my opinion. Disappointing to be sure.
I don't understand why they wouldn't even ATTEMPT to make the design flow in from Uptown. It just doesn't make sense not to make it more pedestrian friendly. What a waste.
